Causes of heating of LED devices
Like traditional light sources, LEDs also generate heat when they work. Under the action of an external electric field in the LED, the electrons in the N-type semiconductor gain energy. Overcome the potential barrier at the PN junction and recombine with the large holes in the P-type semiconductor. After recombination, the electrons return to a state of low potential energy and release energy at the same time. The form of energy release may be in the form of radiation or in the form of non-radiation. If the energy is released in a non-radiative form, causing the semiconductor lattice to vibrate, it is converted into heat. In addition, when electrons migrate in semiconductors, they will encounter resistance, which is another source of heat.
